garden of garbage

I wandered over to Hamer Hall this week to take a look at the Kaeru Environmental Public Art Project by Hiroshi Fuji. It was put together over three weeks and is made entirely of rubbish.

How much fun would this have been to put together?! All that trashy plastic, rescued and made beautiful.  I thought it appropriate to take a few pictures with my trashy plastic Lomo lens.

A soundscape is activated as you walk along the tatami-matted paths that cross through the garden, and seats for relaxing in.

If you're in the city before the end of October you should check it out. It's kind of hidden. There don't seem to be signs out the front of Hamer Hall, just a sign round the back where the entrance to the art piece is. Just be aware, if the weather is windy they close it off, so maybe ring first and make sure its open to avoid disappointment.
